Want to know more? Keep reading this blog post to learn about La Casita de Papi and get some local tips!

Why Is La Casita de Papi the Best Seafood Restaurant in Cabarete?

La Casita de Papi combines three of our favorite things about Cabarete: its beautiful location, the authentic Dominican vibe, and delicious food. The restaurant is located on the beach in downtown Cabarete, only a 5-minute drive from Cabarete Palm Beach Condos. It has a cozy outside seating area with outdoor lights that your Instagram followers going to love.

What to Order at La Casita de Papi

Work up your appetite with mouthwatering appetizers (entradas in Spanish) and a drink of your choice. Crab cakes, fresh dorado carpaccio, and buttered lobster are all fantastic ways to start a meal! Enjoy the sounds of the crashing waves and an intimate atmosphere.

The main courses, or platos principales in Spanish, never disappoint. La Casita de Papi is famous for its seafood and offers lobster and shrimp dishes. If you’re looking to eat fresh fish, grilled dorado filet and tuna in a Mediterranean sauce are fantastic options. La Casita de Papi offers an Angus steak and a chicken roast with a mushroom sauce for the meat lovers out there. All main courses come with a side of pasta, rice, or potatoes.

If you’re vegetarian or vegan, La Casita de Papi also offers tasty pasta and plant-based dishes. For more dining options, visit these vegetarian and vegan-friendly restaurants in Cabarete.

Local tip: Since the restaurant is located on the beach, street vendors may try to sell you some of their merchandise. If you don’t want to buy anything, just say “no, gracias” (no, thank you), and they will move on. However, sometimes street vendors sell really cool stuff! Our favorite things to buy: dulces de almendra, a sweet made with nuts, and Dominican cacao, which we use to make a healthy hot chocolate on a rainy day.

The Secret Sauce

The most popular options at La Casita de Papi are lobsters or shrimp “a la papi,” cooked in a delicious thick sauce. The fun part is that no one knows the ingredients of this signature sauce! It is hearty and resembles a curry, but otherwise, it remains a mystery.

The seafood is served in a large cooking dish, smothered in sauce, with a side dish of your choice and a breadbasket. We are obsessed with it, and we think you will be too!
