See for yourself. This is what a typical day in Cabarete could look like.
Morning
Wake up – Make a coffee and check out the weather from your condo’s wide-open sea view. Depending on how motivated you feel this morning, you could set your alarm just a little bit earlier and experience a sunrise surf session at Playa Encuentro at least one of the days you are here.
You can rarely find fantastic conditions for kitesurfing, windsurfing, and wave surfing in the same place, so take advantage of your circumstances. Encuentro is only 5 minutes from our condos, so you’ll get a little tour of the town on the way down to the beach. Can you think of a better way to start the day?
Breakfast – It’s just the most important meal of the day, right? You’re already out and about after your surf session so you should run by Dick’s Bakery for some grub. A super selection of fresh warm bread is prepared every morning, which pairs nicely with the ‘Full English’ breakfast and a refreshing tropical juice. Treat yourself!
(You might just need to take a bigger kite for your next session on the water after that fry up!) You’ll definitely get a good bang for your buck here.
Time for a little siesta while you wait for the thermal winds to kick in at about 2 pm.
Afternoon
Then it’s time to hope back in the water for a kitesurfing or windsurfing sesh.
Wind – You’ve just shredded it on the water, the wind was howling, and your stoke is high. So many amazing riders come to Cabarete to train in our consistently perfect conditions. It’s hard to not feel inspired ripping alongside some of the best in the game.
After all of that action, you’ve probably worked up an appetite, so it’s time to chill and refuel.
Late Lunch – Pretty much next door to our condos, Restaurant Serenade is serving up a huge menu of delectable delights. They literally have everything from salads to steaks. The perfect place for a pause during your action-packed day. For the vegans and vegetarians out there, this is a tasty spot for you, too.
You’re on vacation, so maybe another siesta before you go back out for another sesh? The wind will blow until sunset, so there’s really no hurry.
Evening
By the time you’ve finished, it's probably time for the best hour of the day. HAPPY HOUR.
Happy Hour – Freshen up and head on down to Mojito Bar for some two-for-one cocktails. This is one of the places where everyone meets at the end of a good day on the water. Share your stories from the day with your new Cabarete friends. Who landed the best trick? Who had the best crash? There are lots of laughs to be had over a couple of drinks while taking in the stunning sunset.
Dinner – Feeling a bit tipsy and tired, you can grab some dinner ‘to go’ from Gordito’s Fresh Mex. Bring some tasty fish tacos back to the condo and chow down from the comfort of your own sofa. Gordito’s is a town favorite, so it’s a MUST at some point during your stay.
*Keep in mind that Cabarete is well known for having awesome live music in the evenings along the beachfront. You will hear any genre from jazz to reggaeton, to rock. Head down to town for a walk along the beach and feel free to dance barefoot upon the sand under the stars.
