Kiteboarding
This video was filmed by Alaz Cabarete and produced by AP Visuals for the brand DaSilva Kiteboarding. It features several young Cabarete riders: Carlo Jose Martinez, Manuel Vasquez, Suami Cavallo, and Joselito Del Rosario. There are clips from several Cabarete Beaches, but the majority was filmed at Playa Encuentro. The short film is meant to showcase the talent of the riders, but it also does a pretty good job of showing off the perfect, almost year-round windy conditions that have made Cabarete famous to aquaholics from around the world.
Surfing
Another collaboration between Alaz Cabarete and AP Visuals, but this time they have come together to highlight local surfer Zion Balbuena and friends shoot the curl and smack the lip (our best effort at surf slang). 90% of the surfing in Cabarete happens at Playa Encuentro, so that is where this video was filmed. If we told you about the other surf breaks in the area…we would have to kill you. If you are a real aquaholic, you will easily make friends over a cerveza or four, and once you have earned the trust of the bros, they might show you the others. But probably not.

Ok, we are sensing an aquaholic enabler here! Another video by Alaz Cabarete shot at Playa Encuentro. Most people probably don’t know this, but Cabarete is a world class location for both flat water paddle boarding and stand up paddle surfing since we are surrounded by lagoons, river, and ocean. Featured in this sunrise video is wave-a-holic, Meghan. Although this particular video was filmed at Playa Encuentro, we should mention that paddle surfing has since been banned at this location for safety reasons, but you can feel free to paddle surf the waves at Kite Beach or Cabarete Bay!
Laser Regatta
We swear that when we started this blog post, we didn’t set out to feature all videos by Alza Cabarete and AP Visuals, but here we are and it’s been an awesome ride! This video was filmed on the last day of the 14th Caribbean Laser Midwinter Regatta put together by Carib Wind Cabarete. It perfectly articulates why sailors from all over the world return to Cabarete year after year. Cheers to constant sun, warm water, wind, and waves!
